Here’s How to Keep Your Home Clean Doing Simple Routine Work

A clean home is a sign of an organized, happy and harmonious family. It signals that people are chipping in to do their part and that there’s a system in place to make sure that everything is in tip-top shape. Sometimes, though, maintaining such a high level of cleanliness could seem daunting, especially when you’re living in a large enough house.

How do you make sure that your house is clean but at the same time not have to devote a lot of time to do it? Turns out, you just have to follow a simple routine! Some activities have to be done daily, others weekly… And then you have some simple monthly and seasonal activities that will make your house cleaner and brighter than ever!


Everyday, do the following activities:

1. Wipe down the countertops
2. Wipe down the kitchen sink
3. Sweep the floors
4. Take out the trash

Once a week, never fail to do the following:

1. Wipe down appliances
2. Scrub the toilets, tubs, showers and sinks
3. Clean the mirrors
4. Dust furniture and shelving
5. Change the bed linens
6. Do the laundry
7. Vacuum carpets, rugs and upholstery
8. Mop the floors

Once a month, you should do these activities:

1. Clean inside the microwave and oven
2. Clean the kitchen and bathroom cabinets
3. Wipe down the inside of the medicine cabinets
4. Scrub the tile grout
5. Wipe down doorknobs, switch plates and lamps
6. Vacuum the baseboards and heating/cooling
7. Disinfect the garbage cans

Once every four months, do the following:

1. Clean and check the pantry for expired items
2. Air out rooms and drapes
3. Clean throw pillows and blankets
4. Sort through closets to clean/donate/repair items
5. Clean and check the fridge for expired items
6. Wash comforters and duvets
7. Wash the windows
8. Clean the fireplace
